Esko Reinikainen

Esko helps people make sense of artificial intelligence by building practical judgment rather than technical expertise. His approach starts with where learners are, not where the technology is.

His route here was indirect, and that's the point. He began as a theatre director, moved into cultural administration and local government, and spent over a decade helping organisations navigate complex transitions in public-sector innovation, systems thinking and network analysis. AI literacy, in his view, is not primarily a technical challenge — it's a translation challenge: helping people connect new concepts to what they already know, see where AI genuinely adds value versus where it's oversold, and develop the judgment to use these tools wisely.

Over the past three years he has immersed himself in AI and distilled the field into a practical framework — the AI Literacy Ladder — and a series of accessible seminars. He has designed and delivered training across the UK, the Netherlands, Finland and Germany, for public servants, government agencies, healthcare organisations and creative industries.

His current consulting work focuses on AI integration in traditional, regulated sectors — particularly healthcare organisations navigating AI implementation and regulatory frameworks.
